The Best Party Theme of the Month

We recently had a client rent 40 chairs from our outdoor furniture hire model for a board game party. She told us that her husband had just announced his retirement and wanted to celebrate his segway into a leisurely existence and out of the daily grind. It had been her idea to plan a games party in response to an ongoing joke that they had between them. She teased that while she continued to head out to work each morning, he would awake at noon and lollygag about in his robe. She painted a picture of him napping in the garden while she toiled away at her place of employment. He responded that he would spend his hours reading the instructions to all of the board games they had acquired over the years, but never found time to open, much less play.

As such, the wife thought the best way to begin his retirement was by opening all the games at once to get things jump started. To do so, she had invited his friends to arrive in their robes and slippers to lounge upon comfy bean bags placed out in the garden. She planned to serve spiked hot chocolate, and boxes of truffles to set the tone. She also requested invitees bring their favourite board games along.
