I was given the job of contacting event furniture hire companies for our annual summer office party. This was a new task for me, because usually I just organize the food. However, one of our new employees has a relative in the food industry so she was a shoe in for the job. Anyway, at first I was a bit peeved about having to figure out who to contact and so forth and so on. However, it only took a little internet research to find what I was looking for, and a pretty quick phone conversation with that one company.
In the end, this responsibility was less involved than my former one. In the past I had to find a new provider each and every year to keep things interesting. Then I had to select menus and fax changes, and make plenty of calls. I really hope that they let me do this part from here on out because one call to Funky Furniture Hire, a bean bag hire company, makes me happy.
