Not Everything Must be Covered

marquee hireMany people conclude that marquee hire is only for an activity that is without any pre-existing covering. This is not accurate, and in fact some designers order marquees to be placed within an established structure. We recently attended a wedding reception that did just that thing.

The wedding reception was held in a tremendous field nearby the church where the ceremony was conducted. In a throw back to early village life, the couple decided to have the wedding party, and attendees, travel on a footpath from the church to the reception. Upon arrival at the festivities, all entered an aged barn that was lined by a marquee in one section alone. This allowed for the ambience of the rickety historical shelter to be revealed; yet a sanctuary of space was reserved in case of summer rains. Hence, an area was dedicated to “just in case”, and the marquee doubled as a decorative emphasis for the bar corner.
